Programme overview:
This one-day programme is appropriate for equipping either recent or soon-to-be leaders with the knowledge and skills required to develop their team. It is also an excellent refresher for more-established leaders. The programme explores what leadership involves in the current, post-Covid era, based upon the principles of a transformational leadership approach. Regardless of job title, this programme lays the foundations for understanding and applying modern leadership practice.
It can be attended either as a standalone programme or as the starting point of a more in-depth leadership development programme involving other relevant units. It can be delivered either online or in-person.

Using different leadership styles to match the situation
The tools and techniques of transformational leadership
Working towards an empowered, high-performing team
Following participation, learners will be able to:
Understand the difference between leadership and management
Understand the core job competences required to be an effective workplace leader
Understand and commit to applying the ‘Cycle of Leadership’ in order to achieve results
Understand why different leadership approaches (styles) are required in different situations
Identify the various factors which will influence the choice of leadership style to adopt
Consider how they can be most effective through the best use of leadership styles
Recognise the traits and benefits of adopting a transformational leadership philosophy
Understand how to use a three stage approach to leadership and their own current level of competence at using each stage
Know how to use a variety of tools and techniques in order to develop a transformational leadership approach
Define what is meant by ‘high-performing team’ and how this level can be recognised in the workplace
Understand the typical stages a team goes through in order to become ‘high-performing’
Apply the correct types and levels of support required in order to build a high-performing team
