Advanced Presentation Skills
Programme overview:
This two-day programme is designed for learners who are or who will be required to make full presentations to others in face-to-face situations. Learners will consider how to prepare an effective, engaging presentation, how to deliver it successfully (including body language, tone of voice etc), how to appear credible and authoritative, and how to handle challenges faced including questions from the audience and ‘difficult’ participants.
As part of the programme, each participant will be required to prepare and present their own presentation for 15-20 minutes twice during the workshop – the second time having received feedback and been provided with opportunity to make the recommended amendments.
This unit can be attended either as a stand-alone programme or as a module within a wider leadership development programme. It is only available to be delivered in person due to the nature of the programme and is for a maximum of 5 learners per group. An abridged one-day version of this programme, which is an excellent refresher for more experienced presenters, can be offered with less practice and feedback opportunity.
Learners who will be predominantly delivering online should consider our standard Presentation Skills Programme.
Tailored programmes are also available for key note speakers and/or presenting to large audiences, or for where the presentations are more of a training nature.
Topics covered:
Boosting self-confidence through a four stage process
Developing and using slides and visual aids for a 'live' audience
Techniques for improving perceived competence and authority of the presenter, before during and after the presentation
Feedback on personal presentation delivery
Following participation, learners will be able to:
Due to the unique needs of each participant, personal learning outcomes will be identified and agreed on an individual basis prior to the workshop
